India’s show in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2023

India holds second position in the Group B fixture of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 and now they have reached to the semifinals which is schedule to play on February 23, 2023, i.e., Thursday.

According to the rule, the team in second position of the Group B fixture will lock the horns with the team which is in first position of Group A in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. On the table Australia women is standing on the first position in Group A by winning all the matches while India women is at second position with six points as they won three matches out of four.

As per recent matches, India W is not able to beat Aussies neither in T20 format nor in series, but they are beatable also.

Up to the mark performance is not manifested by India till now in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. To show their real power India must win the first semifinals of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

Performance of Harmanpreet Kaur in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2023

Indian batters are seen out of form in this world cup. Indian women captain and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is among the same. Expectations were very high with the talented skipper, but she felt short in showing her batting skills till now in this breathtaking Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.

In this T20 format, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is only able to make 66 runs in the four matches. In three games, she has played with the strike rate of below 80 except against the Pakistan in which she has score 16 runs off 12 deliveries. In the previous match also against Ireland she was able to make 13 runs out of 20 balls.

For performing better in the semifinals, Kaur should search her form and execute that in the field.

Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh are currently doing needful batting for India women in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.  Jemimah Rodrigues’s form was also visible in India Women vs Pakistan Women game by scoring fantastic fifty, but she didn’t continue her magic the other matches.

According to the Hindustan Times - After the Ireland game, Harmanpreet raised concerns over the number of dot balls Indian batters were conceding. “Against England, we played too many dot balls,” she said, referring to India’s only defeat in Group 2. A win would have helped top the group and leave England to battle it out with Australia in the semis.

“We’ve already been discussing in team meetings. Dot balls are something which is already worrying us. In the next game, we would love to see improvement in that area also.”

Hoping while working on the dot balls, Kaur works on herself too for the entire team and nation. Though in this tournament, Kaur’s game is not amazing yet, but hopes are still alive as people have seen Harmanpreet’s incredible game and journey in the cricket.
