India continued their unbeaten run in the Asia Cup 2025 with a 21-run victory over Oman in Abu Dhabi. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India got off to a quick start as Abhishek Sharma smashed 38 off just 15 balls. Sanju Samson, promoted to number three, anchored the innings with a well-crafted 56 from 45 deliveries, while Tilak Varma (29 off 18) and Axar Patel (26 off 13) provided valuable late contributions. India eventually finished on 188/8 in their 20 overs. In response, Oman fought bravely and gave India a real challenge. Aamir Kaleem led their chase with a superb 64 off 46 balls, supported by Hammad Mirza’s composed 51, as the pair built a strong partnership that briefly put pressure on the Indian bowlers. However, despite their resilience, Oman fell short and ended at 167/4. Arshdeep Singh made history during the match, becoming the first Indian pace bowler to reach 100 T20I wickets, while India also experimented with their batting order, with captain Suryakumar Yadav coming in last but not facing a ball. The result confirmed India’s dominance in Group A as they advanced to the Super Four unbeaten, while Oman, though defeated, earned respect for their spirited batting performance against one of the world’s strongest sides.
