PAK vs OMAN

In the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan Shaheens secured a comprehensive 74-run victory over Oman in a Group B clash at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat. Opting to bat first, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 185/5 in 20 overs, with Rohail Nazir scoring a quick 41 off 20 balls and Qasim Akram anchoring the innings with 48 off 38 deliveries. Late flourishes from Abdul Samad (31 off 15) and Arafat Minhas (31* off 15) helped Pakistan set a formidable target. In reply, Oman struggled to keep up with the required run rate, managing only 111/7 in their 20 overs. Jatinder Singh top-scored with 24, while Wasim Ali contributed 28, but regular wickets and disciplined bowling from Zaman Khan and Mohammad Imran, who took two wickets each, ensured that Oman never got close to the target. Pakistan Shaheens’ strong batting and tight bowling performances combined to deliver a dominant win, keeping their campaign on track in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

Pakistan Dominates Oman in Asia Cup 2025 Opener

Pakistan launched their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a commanding 93-run victory over Oman at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 12. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 160/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Haris was the standout performer, scoring a brisk 66 runs off 43 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. His innings anchored the Pakistani lineup, which faced early setbacks, including a duck from Saim Ayub on the very first ball. Sahibzada Farhan contributed a steady 29 runs off 29 balls, stabilizing the innings after the initial loss. Oman's bowlers, Aamir Kaleem and Shah Faisal, each claimed three wickets, but Pakistan managed to reach a defendable total.
In response, Oman was bowled out for a mere 67 runs in 16.4 overs, falling short of the target by a significant margin. Pakistan's spinners were instrumental in dismantling the Omani batting lineup. Shaheen Shah Afridi, the sole specialist fast bowler in Pakistan's XI, led the attack with precision, supported by the spin duo of Haris Rauf and Saim Ayub. Their combined efforts ensured that Oman could not build any substantial partnerships, leading to a comprehensive win for Pakistan.
This victory not only marked a strong start for Pakistan in the tournament but also highlighted the depth and balance of their squad. The team's ability to recover from early batting challenges and the clinical performance of their bowlers showcased their readiness for the challenges ahead in the Asia Cup 2025. With this win, Pakistan has set a positive tone for their upcoming matches in the tournament.
